Engine Performance problem
1993 Ford F350 V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual 170000 miles
I have a 7.3 international deisel that looses it's fuel line pressure after sitting for more than a couple of days. It will eventually start after much encouraging, but if more than a couple opf weeks has passed, it's a no-go for getting it started without priming the lines manually. This problem is exacerbated by colder snap weather.
I have replaced the injector line hoses, clamps, caps, o-rings many times, but the problem is never fixed or resolved for more than a couple of weeks before it is back to the same problem. I have had the same issue will every dated deisel truck application I've had and have never been able to correct it fully.
Could my pump be getting to the age, that it looses it prime? I have thought about splicing a electric priming pump inline to assist in preventing the prime loss, as it worked well on the deisel marine applications during my youth. Any insight or suggestions are much appreciated,
Regards,
