1993 Dodge Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Manual 140000 miles

I have a 1993 dodge power ram, 140,000. miles runs well. manual transmission, size 518?. Went to start it last night and just heard a click. turned key in rapid succession and the car started. Maybe unrelated but I was driving it before sunup this morning and put on the high beams. after about ten seconds the headlights shut off completely. turned light switch on and off until headlights came on again. put the high beams on, after ten seconds, headlights went out. pulled light switch in and out until lights cam on, not so easily the second time, left the low beams on, all ok

Load test the battery and alternator-if okay check the electrical system for short circuit/igntion switch/transmission range switch/starter relay and starter itself.
