1993 Chevy S-10 Fuel Pump

1993 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 175000 miles

Can you tell me is the fuel pump for this vehicle located inside the gas tank? vehicle will not start, but if i bang on the bottom of gas tank it will start then, but if engine is killed, vehicle will not start back without you tapping on the gas tank, my question is do you think that the fuel pump is going out?

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank-if you have to do that could be a loose connection inside or the fuel pump is on its way out-my suggestion is replace the fuel pump-
