Interior problem
1993 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 200000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I was changing the door handles on the 2 door sedan z34 lumina, and all was going well, but I believe that when i shut it, the lock was engaged in the wrong position, and now I cannot open the door. The lock mechanism is automatic, so when i open it, the lock will not full extend and the door does not open form the inside handle or outside. I thought it was fortunate that I had left the casing off and therefore the cables or bars or whatever you would like to call them were exposed and I was able to hook them with a coat hanger and pull it downward, the same way that it does on the other side (i opened the driver side and mimicked the motion) but unfortunately it will not release the latch for the door to open. I am out of ideas and I wasn't sure whether the dealership could open it, and if so if it would cost me a fortune. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.
