Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100000 miles
My friend had my car running idle for a couple hours today. It was working perfectly but now it won't start. Something happened to it while it was idling so long. I don't know what it could have been or how to get it running again. Any ideas? |

Hi:
First you need to know why it won't start, no spark or no fuel. Check for both and get back to me.

Well the person was trying to help me prepare for an air care test by first burning off the little that was left of the older, dirtier gas. Apparently it began to make a whining sound, so he turned it off. Then it wouldn't start back up. I assumed it was out of gas and added a jerry can full of the cleanest fuel I could get. But it still won't start. Should I try using a starter fluid or something? |

Hi:
Yes, try starting fluid. If it starts, the problem is in the fuel system. |
