1993 Acura Integra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 110000 miles

I own this Acura that had a 20amp fuse installed in a ECU slot that called for a 10amp inside the fuse box cover. The guy who owned it prior to me complained that his car would silently stall going down the road and he would pull over and check the fuse box and sure enough every time the ECU fuse was blown so he would reach in his glove box and get a 20amp fuse, and replace it and off we would go. Well I've changed it to a 10amp. Do you think the wrong size fuse (though larger) would cause it to blow? And what is the ECU fuse for?

When installing a fuse of a larger capacity, it would not blow as easily as a higher rating. It might cause the item(s) that it is supposed to protect to blow instead. That is the reason fuses must not be of a higher rating than it is recommended.

The ECU fuse is for the Engine control and many other sub components. Without it the vehicle would not start.
