Engine Mechanical problem

My engine started making a ticking noise. Not a knocking noise. Sounds as if it is in the head. It gets louder as I accelerate. Im wondering if it is a lifter or valve. They are hydraulic lifters, the engine is a KA24E.

This sounds like a faulty hydraulic lash adjuster, try adding a good quality engine flush and then do a engine service, this may help remove any deposits in the valving, if not it will have to be replaced.
