Electrical problem
1992 Lincoln Continental 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i have a 1992 lincoln continental. we just replaced the instrument cluster it works but the illumination isnt bright. we checked the bulbs: they are good. replaced the alternator for more power. and checked the wiring and didnt see any burnt. however we did see one wire unplugged that looked like it went to a wiring harness but no where to that it would plug into. and we checked our fuses. why would we not be getting illumination to our digital instrument cluster.
