Electrical problem
1992 Honda Accord 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 350: miles

Did a motor swap used my auto tranny and wiring harness ,speedo not working : pulled out the vss the drive pin turns when front wheels blocked up, put back together , with a voltmeter checked ground (grreen) good ,checked (yellow wire) 5 v. and put car in gear and checked the (white black srip wire) got 1.02 decreasing to 1.003 when reving the motor in gear and turning tires to 3000rpm roughly, still no speedo????

Hi drewz,

Don't start engine. Connect White/black wire to voltmeter and ground.

Disconnect B socket from ECM

Turn ignition switch on.

Put vehicle on stands and slowly rotate front tires, voltage should fluctuate between 0 and 0.5 v. if reading is out, check for shorting of wire, if none, replace VSS.

Not sure were socket B on ECM is. Also do I turn start the engien and put the transmisson in drive. Thanks, Drew

The B socket is the middle connector plugged into the ECM found under the floor carpet under the passenger side.

No, just turn ignition switch on with trans in N.

so i dssconected the middle socket on the ecu jacked up the car turned on the key put tranny in neutral hand rolled the tire white+black 1.07 v yellow still 5 v no fluctuation w/b wire? steady 1.07

Bought a new VSS installed went for drive no speedo, jacked up pass.tire unplugged socket "B"on ecu turned on key put in neutral hand rolled the tire 5v on yellow .41 on white black and increased to.45 when I hand rolled tire ??
