Drive Train Axles Bearings problem

was driving down the road and for no reason the 4wd engaged. the 4x4 light came on.i pulled over and it disengaged but light stayed on then a few more miles it engaged again. i pulled over shut truck off for about10 minutes and the problem went away.i was glad because i was about 100 miles from home
