Shakes or Wobbles problem

This started to happen about a month or so ago; it started as a very slight shaking but has since then become very pronounced. The car (steering wheel most of all) will being to shake around 35 to 45 mph. anything above or below that it seems so small that I cant really tell the shakes are there. All tires have correct air pressure. Could it be alignment? The shaking does not occur when braking.
