Engine Cooling problem
1992 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 134250 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have recently developed a strange problem. The car does not overheat but whenever I stop it loses 1 qt. of water from the cab passenger side. I have located a 3rd fitting coming from the dash side which seems to go nowhere. The 2 heater hoses and fittings are fine, and the 3rd fitting is about 6 inches toward the window and slightly above them. The leak is a small drip from the 3rd fitting. I do not have air conditioning, and there is not even a compressor, and the radiator level is low by 1 qt also. It only does this after the car has been stopped for about 5 or 10 minutes. When it's hot it doesn't leak anything. What is the third fitting for, where does it go, and can I plug it or do I have to fix or repair something?
