1992 Acura Viger 185000 miles, 2.5 engine

I'm needing info on what is causing this problem. When I turn the ignition key on the lights don't come on on the instrument panel. Then when I turn the key to start the car it will start, but stops when I let go of the key to disengauge the starter.
