Engine Mechanical problem
1991 Toyota Cressida 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 180000 miles
when replacing the timing belt on a 1991 toyota cressida, following the shop manual, what happens when after you remove the spark plugs then hand turn cranksgahft to 0 tdc, the camshafts dont line up with the case marks. It appears that the last belt has left the leftmost cam pulley one tooth behind the right cam pulley. After removing the belt, and as the manual states all the other pulleys, do you then turn the crank again (as it states) and then when reinstalling the cam pulleys(2) dohc., do you then line up the cam matchmarks(built in to the pulleys with the case marks?? Please advise not sure im interpreting the book right..but thats exactly how its stated. |
