Engine Mechanical problem
1991 Other Mercedes Benz Models 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 280000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My 1991 mercedes sd turbo deisel has great oil pressure at startup, even at an idle. But after it warms up it barely registers oil pressure at an idle. What are the possible problems and solutions? Thanks for any help!

HI there,

Drop of oil pressure like tins could be caused by either worn engine bearings, faulty pump, oil pick up cracked, oil pump faulty or a pressure relief valve acting up. I would start by getting an oil pressure test done with a master gauge, then you will know exactly what is going on with the pressure.
