Transmission problem
1991 Acura Legend 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 134000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 91 acura legend and I am replacing the differential. I am having a problem with connecting the transmission extension shaft to the diff. everything is lined up and the diff is hung and half in but I can't get the shaft to slide over the lock ring. any suggestion on this would be helpful. thanks.

I have tried putting a bolt in the end of the shaft and tapping it in but I am also affraid to hit it too hard, I don't know if it will effect the shaft or the diff. gears.
mileage of the engine is 83k but my dash reads 134k never had it turned back
