Transmission problem

I was told there is a cord that goes to the transmission. It was loose and my transmission would not shift out of second gear. Gut wants $1800.00 to rebuild the tranny. Is this reasonable?

I am not sure what you are referring to by a cord... But if your transmission is acting up.don't take the first price... get a few quotes first, there may be a cheaper option, but the transmission will have to be inspected first.
