Engine Mechanical problem
1990 Acura Integra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 200000 miles

I have a 1990 Integra with a 1.8 liter engine. the problem is that when i turn it on it reves up and down from the idle to 3 to 4 grand then it holds there for like 10 min then it just goes up and down after a while.......... dont know what to check.........

The cold start fast idle valve, throttle body and EACV are the 3 items you need to check.

1. Fast idle valve most probably has its internal valve worked loose by itself due to a bad O ring.

2. Throttle body might be stuck in open position due to debris from a bad air filter.

3. The EAVC might be stuck in open position due to internal fault.
