Transmission problem
1990 Acura Integra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 214K miles

If I drive the car longer distances, (about 10miles or
more) I have to let it sit for 15-20min before I can start it.

When I try to start the car I can hear it try to start, but it immediately dies. If I try again the same thing will happen only now it's accompanied by a blinking S3 light. If I just put the key to the on position the S3 light will blink. If I wait long enough the S3 light will no longer blink and the car will start.

This has been a problem for a very long time now.
Any ideas?

There is a relay under the dash. I can't remember what it's called and it's a _itch to access, but it controls the start function. It is a common problem on this car. Relay is available at any Honda or Acura dealer. I think it's about 30 bucks. Forget trying to troubleshoot it. One time it works, next it doesn't. I changed it out, never had problem again, gave sister car 'bout a year ago, still doing fine 160,000mi.

Thanks for the response, I will defiantly look into replacing it. I have to know, what does the car being warm have anything to do with this? This is that part that drove me nuts.

It drove us crazy (for literally a couple of years!). FYI...There's a few more posts on this same problem you may want to check out. I think the relay is called "EFI relay".
