Engine Mechanical problem
1989 Acura Integra 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual
Ok Heres the problem.
All was fine, car was bought used. started well (cranked over). Took a trip to local store. got out and car would not crank there after. able to push start and run fine. Reemoved starter and had it checked (all diags. on starter passed). Battery holds charge fine, All lights and Etc. work.
Check for 12 volts at the small wire on the starter with key in crank position. If it has it the starter is bad, if not check for power in and out of the clutch switch, mounted on the pedal assembly under the dash. Should have power in and out with clutch pushed in, if not switch is either bad or out of adjustment
Should never bypass this, then it can start in gear.remove a/c duct, should pull out of the way. One of the wires will have power with key in crank position, the other will power up when clutch is depressed, looks like both wires are black/white
Thank you so much. The problem has been solved without me paying a mechanic BIG BUCK. It just turned out that a screw fell out which pressed the swith when the clutch pedal was pressed. Simplre fix with your guidence.
