i have an 2000 audi tt 1.8, mileage 105000,due to a burglary the car was stolen with the keys. it was recovered but needed some work as well as a new locking system. when the car was recovered the drivers airbag light was on and apparently insurance doesnt pay to turn the light off if airbag not deployed, so i took it to an autoelectrician who after doing the diagnostic test informed me he could not even turn the light off as the fault was saying a trapped wire, which would of been caused when the new locking system was put in. is this right? as the garage where the car had the work done is saying this is a problem with cars of this age and it needs a new module costing £800 and that it is not there fault.
i would much appreciate if you could help me
