2004 Audi A4 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Manual
----------------------------------------------------------------
I tried to open the hood. I pulled the hood latch and I heard an unusual sound. The hood did not pop up and the lever fells like it is not pulling anything. The battery went dead and I need to replace it. How do I get the hood open now?

Does the hood pop up enough to see the hood latch? You might be able to get a screwdriver in there, as the hood latch isnt like conventional locks. A screwdriver might be able to put pressure on the locking latch to release the hood (to replace the action of the release latch).

The Hood does not move at all. I tried puishing down on the hood and pulling up on the hood at the same time as pulling the lever.
I spoke with the Audi Dealer and they told me it is a normal problem. The Latch Assembly will cost $200.00 and there is a minimum of two hours involved to get the hood open before they can replace the latch. They will have the part on Tuesday 09-02-08. At this point I need to open the hood to replace the battery.
