2003 BMW X5 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 10600 miles

My car was just recently towed and I had to get it repair after the tow. Then after that my car stopped. Now I need a transfer case and a front drive shaft that is costing me almost $4000. Could the damage that I have come from the towing? What I had repaired the 1st time was the LR upper control arm. Please help. I need to understand
