Transmission problem
1999 BMW 323 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 112000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
if you put your foot on the gas when the engine is cold it's ready and willing to go. After the engine and transmission have reached operating temp, you put your foot on the gas and it seems like it's in the wrong gear when it really isn't, you have to stand on the floor to get the car to think about downshifting and the check engine light came on as soon as this problem started. i owe too much on this car to let it go and don't have money to have a new trans put in and am some what mechanically enclined, just don't know bmw.

The check engine light being on should give a clue as to what is going on with the car. Scan for faults and repost.
