Transmission problem
1999 Audi A6 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
I was wondering how do I change the transmission fluid on 1999 Audi A6? Or even check the level of the transmission fluid because my car doesn't have a transmission dipstick? What kind of transmission fluid do I need? I know I could do the job myself but it's hard trying to find anything on it. Thank you for any help you could suggest to me. Why should I pay a dealer plenty of money when I could do it myself?

Thanks!

correct there is no dip stick,on the bottom of the trans pan there are 2 plugs the larger with a 17mm hex inset is the fill plug the other is the drain after draining fluid fill with a gravity bag until it starts to drip out start the engine and start filling again at 35 - 45 degrees celcius fluid should jut drip slightly if it runs out its to full make sure put fill plug back in before turning off engine the fluid is a special available at the dealer it is expensive
