Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Buick Century 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 74,000 miles

My service engine soon light is on. The car seems to be running fine. I had an 88 Dodge Dynasty that I could get a trouble code off of by turning the key on and off so many times and one of the dash lights would blink a code for what was wrong. Is ther something similar I can do for my Buick? Do you recommend some service at this amount of mileage? I've been changing the oil and filters (air & oil) regularly, and like i said, it seems to be running fine but I would greatly appreciate your opinion.

Thanks,
Mark

there is nomore turning key trick(that made life so easy). now you will need a obd2 scanner, check out our store if you want to purchase a inexpensive code reader. for the money its worth it because it will give you years of use. but anyway you can go to your local autozone and they will scan the computer for free and give you a code that you can bring back to us and we can further guide you. a code does not tell you what is actually wrong but it will send us down a path which we can usually nail right on the head pretty accurately.
