Engine Cooling problem
1998 Audi A6 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 91000 miles

I just replace the fan clutch 3 weekls ago and car still runs very warm. I noticed the fan was engaging a week ago but is no longer working. What is the cause of a fan clutch failure?
The clutch fan operates on both heat and silicone oils to keep it up to speed. Even if there is no oil, it would still operate, but with not much force.
If it is the electrical fan, it would not operate unless the AC is turned on with compressor working or when the fan switch heats up.
What temp is the gauge registering?
Any coolant shortage?
