Engine Cooling problem

Hi there, I have just bought an Audi A4 1.9 TDi. It has started to reach almost 120 degrees when driving. We put water in & that temporarily cured it, but has recently started again. The first time it happened we turned on the interior heaters which again cured it temporarily.
The heater inside has now started alternating between hot & cold without touching the controls.
Could it be the water pump?

Hi Ross,

Did you check the radiator coolant level? If coolant is being lost, you need to check/test for leakage and rectify it.
What you are experiencing seems to point to lack of coolant in the system.
