Engine Performance problem

my car was running fine the day i changed the fuel filter, before i changed it that is. after i changed it i drove aroung and noticed a difference i acceleration. the car wasnt as fast to acclerate it was just lagging and it hasnt change since also the rpm fluactuates. do i need to reset something?

Did you follow the fuel filter direction flow?
also did you disconnect the battery-if so computer might have to undergo relearning-

yes i did follow the directed flow, arrow pointing towards the engine and i did disconect the battery as well as the fuse to the fuel pump. i replaced the origonal one, i believe, to a new one.
