For a while now, my car is really really really loud. it has a sports exhaust on it but im talking really loud. the sound seems to come from the front of the car and not from the back where i thought it might be. i open up the bonnet and the sound is even louder? i cant drive it because i will get fined for noise polloutuon. what could this be?
i havent got the money to buy a whole new exhaust system. could it be something smaller. or may it be from the engine?
You may have a leaking manifold gasket, flange gasket or a cracked manifold. Get a length of hose and use it as a stethoscope to listen around the exhaust, if it is leaking this method will locate it.
