Engine Performance problem
1988 Toyota Cressida 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 155 58 miles
I HAVE CRESSIDA'88 2000 CC. THE IGNITION SYSTEM USING CARBURATOR (THE ORIGINAL WAS INJECTION) WHEN I GOT IT. THE SELLER HAD CHANGED THE IGNITION SYSTEM. CARBURATOR USING SUZUKY CARRY 1000 - 1300 CC. MY QUESTION IS: THE TOP SPEED IS 115 KM/HR AND VIBRATES AT THIS SPEED. I FEEL UNCOMFORT. DOES IT CAUSED BY THE IGNITION CHANGING? OR BY ANOTHER ELSE? AT SPEED BELOW 115 KM/HR I FEEL COMFORT, NO VIBRATION.

Most likely you have an issue with wheel balance or alignment. Take to alignment shop and have it checked. |

I can say from experience that at least a 1984 toyota cressida can hit 108 mph without shaking. That someone put a carb on a cressida is just strange. However, since the problem seems to not be linked to engine speed, this change is probably not the culprit. |

The carb thing is wierd, but some people would rather not spend the money to get the FI working, so they go carb. |
