Transmission problem

I bought this 88' subaru GL and it wont move while in gear, so i dropped the tranny thinking its the flex plate or torque converter. The flex plate was fine so i replaced the torque converter and cleaned the governor and filled the tranny and started the subbie up, but all it does is move a tiny bit at very high rpm's, maybe its a burnt out pump inside?
