1988 Other Subaru Models Axle won't turn wheel

Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1988 Other Subaru Models 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 198000 miles

We recently replaced axle on my son's 1988 Subaru GL it ran great for several months, now the axle won't turn the wheel. Is this a major repair bill? Easy to fix. don't want to put too much money only paid 500 bucks for car 2 years ago
