Engine Mechanical problem
1988 Dodge Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 96000 miles

First, let me say, I LOVE THIS OLD TRUCK!!!! The truck stalls for no apparent reason. It seems something MIGHT be going on with either the throttle-body or maybe the fuel pump, or maybe both. I am at my wits end. If you let it sit, after it stalls, it will start. There is a cable that runs up to throttle-body, if I can get it to activate, the truck will re-start right away. Please any info will be greatly appreciated

Hi:

When you say get the cable to activate, what do you mean? If I'm thinking correctly, you mean if you move it around, it makes contact and the truck will start. Am I correct? If that is the case, you have to find where the connection is lost on that wire.

Let me know if I'm correct.

Joe
PS: I had the same year truck and loved it. I had to get rid of because of gas prices. I could no longer afford to drive it, and now I miss it. Don't worry, we'll get this figured out.
