Engine Performance problem
1988 Chrysler New Yorker 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 12300 miles
i have a 1988 new yorker and it is acting very strang just out of the blue it starts idleing high when car is at a stop it also acts like it wants to continue to go once stoped have to make sure i keep my foot on the break hard to keep the car from lunging foward really don't know what to do

It sounds like you have an sensor problem. What I suggest, take it to Auto Zone or other nationally recognized auto parts store. They will scan the computer for trouble codes.
Let me know what it is. My guess is the TPS is bad.
