I have a 1988 Audi 80 which I have resently started having the problem of the rpm's pulsating between 1000-1100 at idle. It only occurs at idle and other wise drives fine. Although, it has been starting hard too. Just to give you a little background I had it tuned up less than a year ago. Another thing I should disclose is ever since I bought it with only 17,000 miles on it, it would do this once in a great while. And was told by the prevous owner all you have to do is turn the key halfway just until the ignition cuts out and turn back on. This would instantly elevate that problem. However, now with 225,000 miles it just started doing it all the time and that no longer works.
