Transmission problem
1986 Other Subaru Models 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 120000 miles

I have a 86 Subaru GL Wagon I'be been driving for about 4 years now. This last winter we had a freak snow-storm (who didn't?) and I had o use the 4-wheel drive for the first time ever. Problem is, now I cannot get it out of 4-wheel drive. If i set the 4wheel lever in any position other than 4-low, then the car just acts like its in Neutral. What and where is the problem? I have absolutly no experience with drive trains and transmissions, only engines.
