Transmission problem
1979 Ford E-Series Van V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles

1979 Ford Econoline Caravan XI. When the vehicle is first turned on, and the transmission placed in drive, the engine has to be revved before the transmission will drop into drive. Also, after going down a hill, on the way back up, if turning left (sometimes right) the transmission will have a hard time staying in gear. Fluid levels are okay, replaced tranny filter. Any ideas? Not a mechanic but I can follow directions. Thanks.
