1972 GMC C1500 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i have 72 gmc pickup truck with a 350engine and i would like to replace my inside gas tank with one under the bed of the truck. i can't afford a new tank so i was going to get a tank from the junkyard, but i have to order it so they could take it off a car that comes in.the problem is i don't know what i need to measure to tell them what type and size i need,and are all 20gal tanks the same size on any car please help.
