1971 Chevy Truck High rev cold/Low rev Warm

Engine Performance problem
1971 Chevy Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100k miles

Chevy 350 (1971 Cheyenne) initial start from cold revs very high and runs semi-rough (occasional pops at exhaust/seem to here occasional knock). After 15-20 mins shut it down and restart, idle is very low and will occasionally stall. Any idea what this might be?
